Job Details

The Institute for Government is inviting applications for a Data Scientist (Job Reference: DATA2011).

The Institute is recognised for high quality data analysis and presentation. As we pursue deeper and more complicated questions about the effectiveness of government, we need to access and analyse ever larger and more complex data sets.

Recruiting a Data Scientist will allow the Institute to improve and expand the use of data in our work, including in work on the impact of coronavirus on government, public services, public finances and Brexit. The successful candidate will bring programming skills and advanced data analysis and visualisation capability into our research team, complementing our existing expertise. We expect that this role will be embedded in the research team, leading projects (or parts of projects, e.g. report chapters), but also assisting in projects across the Institute to develop our data science capability.

This role could suit people with a wide range of different experiences, including but not limited to data analysis in government, academia, finance, journalism or scientific research. If you are interested in applying but are not sure you have all the skills, please do so and give us the opportunity to consider you as a candidate.

Closing Date: 6 November 2020

Interview/Start Dates

Applications for this role will close at 12pm.

Interviews will be held in the w/c 30th November.
