Job Details

One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory diseases – from mild asthma through to lung cancer – the Asthma UK-British Lung Foundation Partnership is here for every one of them. We provide support, fund vital research, and campaign for better prevention, treatment and care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small, extremely dedicated and ambitious policy and public affairs team. Reporting to the Senior Policy and Project Manager, your role will be to deliver a high-quality secretariat service to the award-winning Taskforce for Lung Health, a 35-member coalition of patients, corporate partners, healthcare professionals and professional bodies.
You will co-ordinate a wide variety of workstreams, including supporting development of policy, organising meetings, writing letters and briefings, and maintaining the administrative functions of the secretariat to ensure the project runs smoothly and efficiently.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will enjoy getting stuck into many different pieces of work. Able to juggle a fast-paced working environment, and to prioritise your own workload, you will thrive on a project which is constantly throwing up new opportunities and challenges. You will be exceptionally well-organised and pro-active, and a brilliant team player. You will interact with colleagues at all levels and all teams across the organisation, able to build links across the charity with other teams including fundraising, digital and patient services. You will quickly make yourself the go-to contact for internal and external stakeholders for the Taskforce project.

We are a small team but punch well above our weight; the Taskforce project recently won the Charity Times Award for Collaboration of the Year. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly capable and ambitious person to join our high-performing and friendly team!
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including our cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension scheme and much more.
