Our Associate Director of Policy will be instrumental in developing our global policy and external affairs strategy, positioning the CIOB as an expert voice in the built environment sector and a driving force for productive and sustainable change. They will work with colleagues, stakeholders, governments and strategic partners all over the world to develop policy activity which raises the profile of the CIOB and meets the needs of our global membership.

Overseeing a high performing and expanding global team, they will lead the implementation of this strategy on a global level, driving forward evidence-driven policy, public affairs and campaigns activity that delivers tangible results in support of our corporate objectives. They will represent the CIOB on the external stage, building relationships that will grow the influence and reach of the CIOB in the political domain.

Being able to demonstrate proven experience and expertise in the field of policy and public affairs, you will understand the UK’s policy and regulatory approach to construction, and how construction policy works on a global scale. You will also be able to show us that you understand the context and positioning of a professional body.

As a strong communicator, you’ll be able to build and facilitate effective networks, and demonstrate an ability to influence government policy across a range of issues.

And finally, as an excellent people manager, you will be able to recruit, develop and motivate a high performing team who can work with you to drive forward our policy an external affairs activity.
