Job Details

CLASS is a leading left think tank that aims to ensure the political agenda is on the side of everyday people. Originating in the labour movement, CLASS works with a broad coalition of trade unions, supporters, academics and experts to produce high quality, intellectually compelling publications and events. By producing research and events, and working with and commissioning work from our panel of experts and unions, CLASS seeks to shape ideas that can inspire the trade union movement and cement a broad alliance of social forces and influence policy development. CLASS has developed a strong reputation for its work on a wide range of public policy issues, particularly its work on equality, the labour market and the economy.

This is a great opportunity to build the profile of CLASS further, initiate and campaign for relevant research and policies in the aftermath of COVID-19, and grow the size and influence of the organisation.

This position will suit someone with proven leadership skills, experience of the labour movement and a keen interest in progressive policy development. Ideally, we would like to have a candidate in post by March 2021.

Lockdown and COVID-19 provisions aside, this position will be based at our offices in Holborn, London where you will be working with a small committed team and reporting to the Management Committee quarterly. However, we can be flexible if you live outside London, as long as you can travel to the Holborn offices on a regular basis (transport costs will not be covered). The position is envisaged as a permanent, full-time role, but we are willing to consider part-time if that suits the right candidate (minimum 21 hours/week). There will be a six month probation period.

Closing Date: 18 January 2021

Interview/Start Dates

Please complete the application form by 5pm on the closing date. Interviews will be held on 5th February, with a start date for the position in March.
