Job Details

About You
You are an exceptional and multifaceted fundraiser, an excellent relationship manager with the skills to build out a fundraising function within a growing charity. You have an entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for fundraising and working within a small start-up team to build new high impact initiatives. You are a true team player, eager to understand the work of the wider team and organisation’s ambitions and powerfully translate these for our funders. You are an excellent project manager with a natural ability to create processes that empower agile decision-making rather than slow things down. You have global/international experience and have the ability to convert dense information into fundraising-friendly content.

The opportunity
In the last two years, the organisation has achieved extraordinary growth and been central to advancing the mental health agenda at global and national levels. We have attracted a range of funders from major individual donors to organisations like the Wellcome Trust, Comic Relief, and Pivotal Ventures, a Melinda Gates company. We are now entering the next phase of our growth and the evolution of our fundraising function.

The organisation
Worldwide mental health conditions are increasing and depression alone is on track to be the leading disease burden by 2030. The world is not yet equipped to handle this growing crisis, especially in low and middle income countries. The global COVID-19 pandemic has only increased the urgency to improve access to, and investment in, mental health care for all.

United for Global Mental Health was established in 2018 to increase political and financial support for mental health through global and national advocacy, resource mobilisation, and campaigning work so that everyone, everywhere has someone to turn to when their mental health needs support. United for Global Mental Health is the first united global effort to bring greater action on global mental health.
