What we are looking for

We are looking for high achievers, from a range of backgrounds. We are looking for candidates with experience working in public sector organisations, with a particular interest in individuals with direct experience working in the British Government, Parliament, Devolved Administrations, the European institutions, EU member states governments or parliaments, or a multilateral institution. Trade policy experience Is of a particular interest, but we are also keen to consider those from other backgrounds.

Across all roles we look for a high standard of academic achievement. For consultant level roles, we are looking for candidates with c.3-5 years’ work experience. In addition, you will have a strong track-record of sustained achievement. As part of this you will have:

Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills – the ability to draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice;

Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge;

Outstanding oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues to non-specialists;

Good organisational skills including the capacity to project manage client teams including, prioritising, planning and scheduling complex tasks proactively, and comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines;

Strong interpersonal skills – a flexible approach and the ability to work well across teams, both with internal colleagues and external clients; and

A strong understanding of politics and the public sector.
