Job Title: Part-time Constituency Caseworker

A part-time caseworker is required for a fixed period of six months, working as part of a small busy team, with potential for extension of contract. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and a good knowledge of Sevenoaks. The candidate must be empathetic and capable, with the skills to manage sensitive issues with care. This would be a perfect job for someone with some experience of local government or advocacy. The hours for this role are flexible and can work around personal circumstances/caring responsibilities/school holidays.

This role is home-based but will require regular meetings in Sevenoaks, and occasional travel to Westminster.

Key responsibilities:

• drafting correspondence on the Member's behalf
• opening incoming mail
• effective constituency casework management
• keeping up-to-date records of constituent contacts
• any other duties related to the post and appropriate to the pay band as directed and agreed by the Member and Office Manager.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
