Established in 2018, The Advocacy Team helps international organisations to develop creative and impactful advocacy campaigns. We are aiming to become the ‘go to’ consultancy service for organisations aiming to influence social change.

We are recruiting a Junior Public Affairs Associate to support our client work across the UK and the EU. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, quickly develop skills across research, writing, advocacy & campaigns, and contribute to drive social change.

• Detailed monitoring of UK and EU institutional activities, conferences and events for our clients across various sectors (global health, food and agriculture, education, child rights, financing for development, gender equality, climate and environment, digital)
• Research and analysis of key issues relating to consultancy projects
• Drafting briefings, speaking points, and reports
• Contributing to the development of advocacy strategies
• Supporting business development
• Other tasks as required

Skills and Experience
• Understanding of both the UK and EU political landscape is necessary
• Working experience in the UK or European Parliament / MPs office / MEPs office / government department / European Commission DG or similar (preferred)
• Knowledge of the international development sector (preferred)
• Experience in campaigns or communications (preferred)
• Keen interest in political affairs
• Excellent English writing and editing skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Exceptional time management and the ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility and ability to juggle several projects at once
• Proactive, can-do attitude
