Job Details
In a complex world, the impact you make will become clear.
At MI5, we protect the UK from all sorts of threats – from terrorism, through to cyber-attacks. But it’s only with different perspectives that we can make the connections that keep our country safe. So when you join our development programme, you’ll be valued for what you bring and do some truly meaningful work.
On this programme, you’ll work with our data to understand people’s interests, relationships and interactions. When you first join, you’ll take on some initial classroom-based training with other new analysts. You’ll all start at the same level, so there’s a real community feel. Plus, it’s a great chance to meet people who share your interest in analysis. You’ll then take on three different analyst postings in our welcoming teams over the next five years. Working in close partnership with Intelligence Officers, you’ll directly impact investigations. At every stage of your career, you’ll be helping to protect the people, places and things that matter to you.
We’re looking for you to be your naturally curious and determined self. That’s how you’ll question everything, spot things others don’t and communicate with all kinds of people. Your attention to detail will also really impress us – along with your interest in data analysis. You might have a degree, but this doesn’t need to be in a particular subject. It’s really all about the kind of person you are.
So join us, and let your impact become clear.
MI5 is an Equal Opportunities employer, committed to reflecting the society we protect. Our recruitment process is fair, transparent and based on merit. We particularly welcome applications from diverse and under-represented groups.

One of your parents must be a British Citizen or must have one of the nationalities or citizenships from one of the following: British Overseas territory, British subject, British National (Overseas), British protected person, citizenship of the Commonwealth, EEA nationality, or citizenship of the United States of America.
