About the role

At Smarkets our mission is to create and run the best political prediction markets in the world and to make our markets the leading source of information for journalists, traders and citizens. As a result of our recent success in this area, we are now looking for people with similar passion and dedication to join our politics team at an exciting stage of growth.

You will have the freedom to take a fresh approach to our markets and have a major impact on the further development of the Smarkets politics product. You will be researching key areas of interest in UK and world politics, creating interesting markets for traders and journalists.
You will be developing good relationships with journalists and fans of political prediction markets who will amplify and help substantiate the role of prediction markets as a source of information and an alternative to polling and pundits.

About you

• At least 2-3 years of proven experience in a relevant field.
• Strong interest in politics, prediction markets and betting.
• A vision for political prediction markets and an ability to push forward on technical changes.
• Good knowledge of social media platforms.
• You have a good understanding of electoral systems around the world and the detail of how political systems work.
• You have worked with G-Suite and maybe some productivity tools.
