Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We work to give every child the same chance in life. We are recruiting for a Public Affairs Officer in the Policy, Advocacy and Research Unit. Working collaboratively with other departments across the organisation, your work will help deliver policy changes and support organisational objectives that promote gender equality and girls’ rights globally and in the UK.

As Public Affairs Officer you will play a key role in developing and implementing effective public affairs strategies by providing political analysis to help inform advocacy and campaigning strategies, and leveraging political relationships across Westminster to deliver Plan International UK’s objectives. You will also develop high quality written briefings and resources that can be used for political advocacy and public affairs.

You will have experience of developing and implementing effective public affairs strategies and of writing speeches, briefings, reports and articles on relevant policy areas, ideally including international development/humanitarian policy. You’ll have experience of providing timely and relevant analysis in response to parliamentary and policy processes and using a strong understanding of the UK political system to influence it. You will also have experience of helping to develop and maintain relationships with parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and other key political stakeholders.
