The Office of Lord Waverley is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to assist with the smooth running of his parliamentary projects.
Reporting directly to and working closely with Lord Waverley’s Parliamentary Researcher and Communications Advisor this internship is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter looking to be involved in all aspects of parliamentary affairs.
While occasional travel to Westminster may be necessary when restrictions allow, this role offers flexibility, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work independently from home. Lord Waverley is looking for a communicator with an interest in Parliament and International Relations.
The main purpose of this role will be in supporting Lord Waverley with a number of exciting projects focused on parliamentary education and international affairs. This opportunity will provide an immersion into the world of Westminster, at one of the most interesting, yet challenging periods in modern history.
To be successful in this role the applicant should demonstrate:
- Good communication skills.
- An understanding of how APPGs operate would be useful but not essential.
- Social media awareness.
- Experience of providing basic administrative support.
- A basic understanding of British Politics with an ambition to learn more and develop this understanding.
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Be organised, with the ability to work to deadlines.
