We are currently seeking a Membership & Engagement Manager to launch, grow, and lead our organisation’s presence in the UK. The ideal candidate is generally curious and interested in learning more about tech policy and the opportunities, issues, and barriers tech companies face today, both in terms of policy and general market concerns. The successful candidate will build relationships with tech innovators and entrepreneurs who are our members as well as research companies in the UK that are doing new and interesting work in the app economy, including in connected health and the internet of things. The candidate will be responsible for designing initiatives focused on a variety of policies, including intellectual property, issues related to standards, and other policy issues. The candidate will be also responsible for communicating with the App Association’s UK members about our policy initiatives and identifying, educating, and activating appropriate members on key policy issues. Working with the membership communications manager, the UK membership and engagement manager is responsible for assisting with the outward-facing communications with the organization’s membership. 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Representing the App Association in the UK
  • Researching, recruiting, and activating new members in the UK
  • Learning about the tech policy landscape in the UK
  • Educating UK tech innovators on tech policy and drafting related collateral
  • Bringing our members’ voice into our policy priorities
  • Building UK presence on the App Association’s existing social media channels
  • Identifying and administering member benefits
  • Coordinating App Association daily work in the UK, including sponsored events

Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience in communications, public affairs, administration, and/or working in an association/membership organisation
  • Experience communicating with members, customers, or constituents
  • Strong English verbal and written communications skills with attention to detail, including copyediting skills
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently from home and collaborate with staff at various levels
  • An interest in tech policy and curiosity about tech and the small businesses that drive the app economy
