With the scale of challenges facing our planet, we know we cannot succeed alone. Our success depends on forging relationships with companies that will join us in tackling the pressing threats facing our world. This is where your passion and talents come in as our Head of Business Advocacy.
As Head of Business Advocacy, you will mobilise businesses in support of our policy, advocacy and campaigning objectives. Working as part of a ‘matrix’ team you will shape and lead our business advocacy strategy to ensure we are as effective as possible in our advocacy outreach and engagement. You will develop clear and ambitious asks and stretch targets for business to deliver the change we want in key policies and practises. You will make the most of all opportunities, support media work and help shape external communications for businesses too.
Leading our private sector advocacy, you will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to deliver results. An immediate priority will be leading our business advocacy for COP 26. Your role will be key to making sure the business voice around the COP is progressive and ambitious when it comes to tackling climate change and delivering on the Paris commitment to keep warming to 1.5C. You will also engage with food retailers to ensure they play their role in reducing emissions and transforming the food sector.
For this role, you must have significant experience of working with businesses and driving change in the private sector. This will include engaging with businesses to deliver change on either social or environmental issues. Able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the environmental and climate change challenges facing businesses and their supply chains, you will be skilled of at developing policy, advocacy and campaigning. Comfortable operating at CEO and Director level, you will be a natural leader who can bring creative and innovative ideas as well as drive strategy from design through to delivery and impact.
