NFRC is the largest and most influential trade association for the UK’s £5bn roofing industry. Founded in 1892, we now represent over 1,100 members of all sizes and across the country from contractors to manufacturers to merchants.
This internship will provide the opportunity to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience in policy and communications.
The intern will gain valuable experience undertaking research to develop new and innovative policy ideas, in supporting NFRC is its work influencing government and other stakeholders, increasing its presence in the press.
Interns will have the chance to work on areas as broad as climate change, building safety, skills, housing, and innovation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Research – supporting the Head of Policy and Communications with desktop research to develop new policy proposals, responding to consultations responses, topics and speakers for the NFRC podcast, and any other research required.
- Writing and proofing – help to draft press releases, briefings, internal updates, letters, blogs, and email bulletins as well as proof-reading copy before it is published
- Monitoring – closely monitor the news, parliament and other sources for content relevant to the federation and provide regular updates to Senior Management
- Event administration – help to organise webinars, and when restrictions allow, in person roundtables and events
