London Councils’ Health & Social Care Team is looking for a highly motivated person with initiative and the ability to work flexibly in what is a dynamic, quickly changing policy environment.

You will have experience of contributing to policy development in social care and services to vulnerable adults, and/or public health or related policy areas, with a good understanding of local government and its roles in a complex landscape.

You will be able to build effective relationships across sectors, communicate, negotiate with and influence a diverse range of people; have experience of creative problem solving and managing a varied workload in a pressurised environment.

In a rapidly changing environment, you will be helping London boroughs respond to some of the most profound long term challenges facing London local government. This will include leading on policy work relating to the reform of adult social care. You will also lead on establishing and maintaining the policy link between boroughs, the Greater London Authority and Government in relation to adult asylum and migration issues. Key to your role will be leading development of policy in a way which strengthens boroughs’ efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of all Londoners.
