As a charity we rely on powerful communications through the media to drive change and build support for the freedom, equity and potential of all LGBTQ+ people. Join us as our Head of Media to lead this high profile work.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications and Campaigns, you’ll focus on building and maintaining Stonewall’s reputation as a prominent, trusted voice on the issues affecting LGBTQ+ people. You will lead on the planning and delivery of our media engagement strategy, working across the organisation to identify outreach opportunities that can contribute to positive social and political change.

You will also assume a leadership role in defending our reputation, implementing the infrastructure required to ensure we can respond to external enquiries swiftly, efficiently and in a way that is consistent with our messaging and values.

You will be a key member of Stonewall’s leadership team and the leadership of our Communications and External Affairs division.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skillset and step up as an ally and role model. It’s a varied role in a dynamic and often hostile external environment so you’ll need to be confident in leading a broad range of media engagement approaches and have strong judgement to support Stonewall’s message in response to a wide variety of complex and contentious issues.
