Index on Censorship is seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Events and Partnerships Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will work to ensure Index is building positive relationships with key stakeholders, especially funders; will oversee Index’s events programme including the annual Freedom of Expression Awards ceremony; ensure that Index is maximising access to philanthropic grants; and ensure that Index is a voice for the persecuted
The role would be ideal for an experienced event organiser who is seeking to build their fundraising experience. A passion for Free Expression and Human Rights around the world is a necessity.
Responsibilities include:
• Building national and international partnerships to promote Index’s work and ensure impact
• Management of our events programme in partnership with the wider team, including:
a. Magazine launches
b. Festival partnerships
c. Banned Books Week
d. Project events
• Management of the Annual Freedom of Expression Awards
• Identifying and completing fundraising applications in partnership with the CEO, and reporting on existing grants
• Overseeing organisational wide internship programmes
The ideal candidate:
• Is a passionate advocate for global free speech and expression
• An experienced editor who has a record of delivering events on time and on budget
• Has knowledge of fundraising processes
• Is an excellent project manager
• Enjoys global current affairs
• Thrives in a small team
• Understands the importance and impact of our work
