Working For: Westminster Skills Centre

Location: London and WFH

Salary: TBC – between London Living Wage and £25k pro rata

Length of Contract: 18 hours a week for 6 months with a possibility of extension.

Our young and rapidly expanding company needs a Programme Administrator with the skills and ambition to organise, promote and monitor our courses, provide professional administration and help us grow.

About you

The ideal candidate understands how Parliament works and can liaise effectively both with our team of trainers and parliamentarians. You understand how to analyse customer metrics from real life and digital data and use this information to create a compelling programme of courses backed up by excellent administration.

Responsibilities

Liaising with our course trainers and staff in Parliament to:

  • Plan and update our calendar of courses
  • Ensure the professional administration of each course end to end
  • Develop and circulate pre- and post- course resources for participants
  • Marketing our training courses to parliamentarians

Providing support for our trainers including:

  • Administration of trainers’ contracts and invoices
  • Inducting new trainers into the Centre
  • Introducing courses and providing IT back-up where needed
  • Updating our website
  • Proposing ideas and approaches for the development of Westminster Skills Centre

Qualifications and skills

Essential skills needed for this role:

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills and co-ordination ability
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint, and confident approach to learning new technology and applications
  • Diplomacy and relationship management skills with internal colleagues/parliamentarians

Desirable experience:

  • An understanding of how Parliament works.
