West Northamptonshire Council is a brand-new Council with a big vision and a broad range of regeneration projects underway or committed.

The service area is responsible for the delivery of the West Northamptonshire Council Regeneration vision. This includes the development and articulation of the vision and ambition for the Council when it comes to how our places are used, accessed and viewed.

There is a lot of investment in West Northamptonshire with the Governments Towns Fund and Future High Street Fund and more to come with the UK Levelling Up Fund and Shared Prosperity Fund.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Programme Officer as part of the team, the role will develop, deliver, monitor and review regeneration programmes and projects for West Northamptonshire Council, taking lead on particular tasks such as Northampton’s Towns Fund.

The Job:

Work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders to identify and develop regeneration opportunities throughout West Northamptonshire and to lead on and achieve effective internal and external stakeholder liaison and engagement in regeneration projects and programmes. You will identify and secure funding opportunities to assist with the delivery of regeneration projects and to lead on the development of business and investment cases for the Council.

The Person:

We are seeking an individual who has extensive experience of programme management within either in the private or public sector, a track record of delivery and an ambition to succeed. You will have outstanding communication skills and a strong understanding of the development world.

Duties will include:

• Prepare business and investment cases in circumstances where the Council is acting as project lead and also support partner organisations/project groups on development of Green Book compliant Business Cases
• Identify and bid for internal and external funding sources to assist with the delivery of regeneration projects. Prepare funding applications, monitoring reports/returns and appraisals on behalf of the Council.
• Ensure that project risks and issues are identified, assessed, effectively managed, reviewed, recorded and reported on a regular basis
