Job Details
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with strong communication and written skills. They will have a clear understanding of current affairs and solid experience in dealing with complex policy issues and casework, writing press releases and producing detailed responses.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise with the media and monitor coverage, prepare press releases and a news column on a regular basis
- Deal with a large caseload of complex policy issues and casework on the Member's behalf, including drafting high quality detailed letters, submissions and reports
- Progress casework as required
- Analyse, evaluate and interpret data to ensure the Member is accurately informed on key issues
- Undertake research on complex subjects
Skills and values:
- Self starter
- Strong communication and written skills
- Experience of providing high quality detailed written responses and reports
- Good attention to detail with the ability to prioritise, manage a busy workload and work to tight deadlines
- Have a working knowledge of relevant legislation and upcoming business
