Job Title: Constituency Campaign Organiser

Working For: Hazel Grove Constituency Liberal Democrats

Location: Romiley, South Manchester

Salary: £19,000-£20,000 p.a. Full Time

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the parliamentary target seat of Hazel Grove, as part of the Liberal Democrat constituency party’s active campaign team.

Hazel Grove constituency is in Greater Manchester and is one of the most winnable parliamentary seats for the Liberal Democrats in the country. The constituency has a strong record of Liberal Democrat success – having had a Lib Dem MP from 1997 to 2015 - and the Lib Dems
currently hold 17 of the 18 council seats in the constituency on Stockport Council.

We have one of the strongest local teams in the country and a Constituency office with 3 members of staff, in addition to a large group of experienced councillors, a hardworking volunteer base and an active local membership.

With both Manchester City centre on the doorstep and good transport links with the rest of the North West, the role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the opportunity to gain experience and training in a top target seat with experienced campaigners.

Working with the office team and a well-developed volunteer network, you will assist in engaging with and expanding the volunteer base post-pandemic, artworking and creating high quality literature, canvassing, assist in developing campaign plans (including enhancing digital media), and management of Connect. You will be a key part of the team running a busy office in the centre of the constituency.

The successful applicant will have lots of enthusiasm, good interpersonal and organisational skills, and a willingness to develop. Working closely with volunteers, councillors and
candidates, key to the role is the ability to build relationships, along with training and motivating volunteers. An understanding of political campaigning, messaging and artworking is desirable.
