Job Title: Campaigns Officer

Salary: £25,000 pro rata. Part-time, 21 hours per week, flexible working permitted.

Length of Contract: Fixed term until 29 July 2022

Job Details

Purpose of role and key responsibilities

• Develop and implement high profile national influencing campaigns and ensure campaigns are integrated across all areas of work
• Promote Coalition messages and communications to ensure widespread support for our campaigns
• Support the Coalition Campaign Manager with day-to-day operations

Specific duties
• Develop, implement, and evaluate campaigns and engagement strategies that achieve positive change. This includes designing and running events, social media campaigns, liaising with stakeholders and attending meetings, events, and advocacy work on behalf of the organisation.
• Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with Coalition members, champions, partners, and supporters as directed by the Campaign Manager
• Undertake research as required to inform campaign activities
• Analyse policy documents and keep up to date with legislative developments that relate to the Coalition’s work
• Coordinate the development of campaigning materials
• Coordinate and manage the organisation’s campaign groups including meetings, updates, and blogs
• Support the Campaign Manager in engaging and mobilising Coalition members, champions, partners, and supporters around campaigns
• Support the Campaign Manager in any other way that may be required

Person specification
You will be proactive and self-motivated, able to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to prioritise work
• Well-organised with an ability to work across many projects simultaneously
• Writing and creating content for websites, newsletters and other communications
• Networking and experience building relationships with stakeholders
• Public facing campaigning and supporter engagement, and / or advocacy experience
• Independent, self-motivated & capable of taking initiative
• Excellent IT skills and data management skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, website management and CRM, social media platforms)
• Coordinating events (workshops, speaker’s events etc.)

Desirable
• Experience of working in a small team
• Knowledge of issues within the private rented sector
• Video editing skills
