Job Details

Natalie Elphicke MP is looking to appoint an Executive Officer to support her and her Chief of Staff and to be part of her team delivering for Dover and Deal. The full-time role will be based in the constituency office in Walmer, Deal. The successful candidate will be well-organised and pro-active with strong communication skills. This role also requires a flexible and can-do attitude.

Requirements:

• A highly motivated staff member, with a positive attitude and ability to work collectively as part of a team,

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence interacting with, and advocating on behalf of, a wide range of people

• Clear and concise letter writing style

• Strong IT skills and the ability to use casework management software (training will be provided)

• Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise their workload

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Providing executive support to the MP and Chief of Staff, including HR and administrative tasks

• Drafting correspondence

• Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation

• Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public, through a variety of methods

• Open, handle and action email, post and social media enquiries

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
