Job Details
Headway is the leading UK-wide charity working to improve life after brain injury through the provision of information, support and services to survivors, their families and carers.
We have an exciting opportunity for a public affairs specialist to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
You will be responsible for leading the charity’s political engagement campaigns to improve the lives of people affected by brain injury in the UK, while developing and managing relationships with MPs and other key stakeholders.
We’re seeking a strategic thinker with an excellent understanding of politics who can help us to raise the profile of Headway among politicians and civil servants working in the fields of health, social care and welfare.
Educated to degree level, you will have experience of working in government relations or in a lobbying role. You will also have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and empathise, and the confidence to persuade and influence.
If you would like to use your political skills to improve services for people affected by brain injury, we’d like to hear from you.
During the pandemic our staff have been working from home with excellent results. However, we recognise the value of working collaboratively in teams to promote creativity and achieve our objectives. Consequently, we will adopt a pragmatic and flexible approach and we are prepared to discuss hybrid working arrangements.
