Communications and Media Intern

Organise interviews with passionate professionals in our network – from senior teachers in schools, to our business volunteers and local stakeholders from across the country.
o Help design interview questions to draw out the powerful stories about our work and follow-up with contacts to refine flesh out interesting aspects of a story
o Write-up stories into powerful, short content that can be used by colleagues across the organisation in their work –e.g., for presentations and media stories
o Proof-read, edit and refine copy for different audiences.
o Draft local press releases and blogs that tell interesting stories.

Candidate submitted must have:

o A brilliant writer – able to accurately write in different styles and tones, to produce content that is clear, informative, interesting and accurate.
o A friendly interviewer – able to communicate with busy professionals politely, question and conduct an engaging interview that gets the best out of an interviewee
o A good editor – able to edit written copy accurately, spot typos and mistakes, and re-order content as appropriate.
o Exemplary writing skills is an essential requirement
o Proficient in all MS office programmes

Parliamentary and Government Relations Intern

o Daily horizon scanning of the news cycle and political monitoring on key policy and political developments in the education, skills and careers space – drafting summaries for the team where necessary.
o To work with Government Relations colleagues on briefings and engagement activities for key policy and political stakeholders with opportunities to attend external meetings / events.
o To undertake ad hoc research and project work as arises.
o Essential administrative support, including mass email correspondence, arranging meetings, event management support and ensuring our contact management is updated and maintained.

o Exemplary and accurate written work
o Proficient in all MS office programmes
o Excellent time management and multitasking skills
o Exemplary writing skills is an essential requirement

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews: 1st stage- 8th and 9th of November 2021 written test for an hour after the interview for both stages
2nd Stage- 16th and 17th of November

Start Date: ASAP
