Job Details

UKGBC is an industry-led network with a mission to radically improve the sustainability of the built environment. This is an exciting time to join us. We are growing fast in profile, size, and impact, and moving to a more geographically distributed working model. We are a purpose-driven, dynamic and ambitious charity made up of a team of almost 40 individuals who are all passionate about working together for a better built environment. 100% of colleagues in our most recent staff survey said they were proud to work for UKGBC.

The role

This is a newly created senior management position, with significant influence and responsibility, touching on all aspects of our mission. As Head of Policy and Public Affairs you will have direct responsibility for leading the strategy – to frame and drive the political framework for the delivery of a nationwide sustainable built environment - and delivering UKGBC’s policy and political advocacy with national, devolved and local government.

You will be joining as UKGBC ramps up its role in elevating the built environment sector against the backdrop of COP26 and growing international and domestic evidence of the urgent need to tackle the climate and ecological crises. We will therefore look to you to capitalise on the suite of key policy opportunities in Westminster, devolved and local administrations, and the growing urgency to meet sustainability commitments within local government Our more than 600 members (and growing) are keen to engage with work in partnership with policy makers from project level to national policy.

If you share our passion for UKGBC’s mission, have strong leadership qualities and excellent knowledge of sustainable development as well as substantial experience in policy and public affairs then we’d love to hear from you.
