Job Details

A vacancy has risen in the office of Lee Anderson MP for a Parliamentary Assistant. The role will involve Parliamentary research into a range of policy and constituency issues, preparing press releases, maintenance of MP’s website, helping with casework and other admin tasks as required. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Preparing briefing notes and policy research as required • Carrying out general admin duties • Assisting the Office Manager with casework • Drafting responses to policy and campaign emails • Preparing press releases • Keeping MP’s website updated Requirements: • Must have good organisational skills and able to manage a busy workload • High attention to detail • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team • Previous Parliamentary experience preferred • Previous experience with casework management database, such as Caseworker • IT knowledge, including Microsoft office Candidates should also be adaptable and flexible and be prepared to get involved in a wide range of issues. An interest in politics and sympathy with the values and aims of the Conservative Party are also desirable.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held on w/c 03.01.22 and w/c 10.01.22 but we may appoint before the closing date.  The successful candidate would ideally be able to start as soon as possible.
