Job Title: Membership Communications and Events Manager

Working For: British Beer & Pub Association

Location: London

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

We promote beer as the nation’s drink and highlight the vital role pubs play in communities. As a trade association, we campaign for policies that enable both brewers and pubs to thrive – from cutting beer tax and business rate to promoting careers in brewing and behind the bar.

In this role, you’ll have responsibility for engaging, retaining and recruiting members to our trade association. You’ll also create and manage a programme of events to prospect new members and connect current members.

The role will involve a lot of reaching out to brewers and pub operators, explaining to them the benefits of joining our trade association.

The role will report into the Communications and Marketing Director, but will also work closely with all teams within the trade association, including the Communications and Policy teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop a Membership retention and recruitment plan with clear targets in terms of numbers and revenue through to successful delivery
• To promote the benefits of BBPA Membership and support our members priorities
• Organise and manage all BBPA events including the Annual Dinner and create a programme of events and revenue as well as other networking opportunities for our Members
• To manage our CRM Members database and lead on Membership Communications
• Maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders and organisations relevant to our members

You should apply if:

• You are a confident communicator with experience of stakeholder management and member relations
• You have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders
• You are self-motivated, driven and happy to work independently
• You are driven by KPIs and targets
• You have experience in and enjoy organising and delivering events

Benefits and salary

• Flexible working and travel (mixture of work from home and office, along with visiting members and prospective members across the UK)
• Employer pension contribution scheme well above minimum rate
• Other benefits including subsidised gym membership, free beer and more

Diversity and inclusion is a priority for us – if we are to showcase the diversity and inclusivity of our sector, our team has to represent it too.
