Salary: Up to £34,542 + Excellent Benefits

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Do you have a passion for education and skills policy? Do you want to create lasting policy impact and build a more sustainable future for the benefit of society? Join us now at the Royal Academy of Engineering to develop policy which will help nurture and grow engineering talent wherever it exists.

At the UK’s National Academy for engineering, we explore exciting and engaging ways to share our evidence, insights and advice and create new opportunities to connect policymakers with the best engineering thinking and expertise. This might be through the Academy's 1,600 Fellows, who represent the nation’s best engineering researchers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Or working in partnership through the National Engineering Policy Centre, a unified voice for 42 professional engineering organisations, representing 450,000 engineers, which gives policymakers a single route to expertise from across the engineering profession.

You don’t need to be a technical specialist as you’ll be collaborating with some of the country’s best minds - our Fellows – and some of the most experienced business and education professionals on important policy challenges. You’ll commission and analyse research, design and run stakeholder engagement programmes and events, and draft evidence-informed papers to support our policy positions.

Are you interested in developing innovative policy solutions for UK education and skills? Fascinated by engineering and would like to know more about engineers? Are you curious and with a common sense approach to think ‘big’ for engineering and technology education and skills policy? If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Tell us why you’re interested and what makes you stand out. Is it your talent for excellent written and verbal skills and ability to build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders? That’s an essential part of the roles, as is your experience in policy development and proven ability to deliver high quality evidence-based work at pace.
