Job Title: Constituency Caseworker

Working For: Mark Jenkinson MP (Workington)

Location: Maryport

Salary: In line with IPSA payscales, commensurate with experience

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Mark Jenkinson MP is looking for a constituency caseworker to join his busy team based in Maryport.

Previous experience is an advantage but not necessary. The applicant will be expected to deal directly, both face-to-face and on the telephone, with members of the public, some of whom may be distressed or disadvantaged; a calm and reassuring demeanour is therefore essential.

The applicant should be organised, self-motivated and able to handle a potentially large caseload efficiently and effectively. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, and a good knowledge of IT and the Microsoft Office suite would be helpful.

Some weekend or evening work is required, accompanying Mark at his regular advice surgeries.

Candidates should be sympathetic to the general aims and values of the Conservative Party.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Closing Date: 16 January 2022

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will take place following receipt of CVs and the applicant will be expected to start as soon as possible following offer. Job offers may be made prior to the closing date.
