There is a great opportunity for someone who is driven and is looking to start their parliamentary career. Chris Loder MP is offering this opportunity on a fixed-term basis until the late summer, to work as part of a supportive and close-knit team at the heart of British politics delivering the MPs priorities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Triage, record and allocate incoming communications including email inbox, 'Caseworker' CMS, telephone and post.

Daily and weekly reporting of correspondence stats.
Prioritise communication items for the MP’s attention And ensure all responses are sent within 1 week

Note-taking for calls/meetings and reviewing actions.

Lead of there specific campaigns to develop campaign capability and skills
Engage confidentially, professionally, with care and integrity on behalf of the MP with members of the public, through telephone enquiries, email and face-to-face.
Provide generalist admin support to the MPs team, including drafting and sending policy correspondence and casework to constituents on a broad range of topics.
Undertake preparation for meetings and research on relevant subjects as directed.
Analyse, evaluate and interpret data to ensure Member is accurately informed on key issues.
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.


Skills and Values sought:

Excellent communicative skills, both written and verbal.
Social media, digital and messaging skills would be a distinct advantage
Pro-active and flexible, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good knowledge of national politics.
Excellent IT skills, with experience using Microsoft Office. Experience using casework management software (e.g. Caseworker) is helpful, but not essential as training will be given
A person of drive, focus, integrity, kindness and flexibility.
Capable and experienced campaigner would be advantageous.
Knowledge of the West Dorset area is helpful, but not essential.
Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
