Location: London

Salary: £38,198 (inclusive of £3,366 London Weighting)

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

The NSPCC are committed to making children safe from abuse online and we have achieved a lot over the recent years, culminating with the publication of the draft Online Safety Bill. As the Bill is about to enter Parliament, this is a crucial time for children, and we’re looking for a first-class public affairs and policy specialist to take this forward and help deliver our ambition for a world-leading legislative package.

You’ll make the case for bold regulation to finally protect children from abuse on social networks, and ensure NSPCC positions reach the statute book and change children’s lives.

We’re looking for a skilled communicator and strategic thinker, with an excellent understanding of the parliamentary and policy process. You’ll have an exceptional understanding of how to build support for legislative and public policy change in Westminster and beyond, and make persuasive, credible policy arguments that cement the NSPCC’s impact and strategic goals.

This is a high-profile and fast-paced policy area and you’ll join a high performing team to develop and implement impactful public affairs strategies and policy calls, and ensure they gain real traction. You’ll be able to demonstrate you can hit the ground running and deliver high impact public affairs and parliamentary initiatives that set the Westminster agenda.

To help us make a compelling case for change, you’ll be confident in building strong networks, have a grasp of often complex subject matter, and have direct experience working on a parliamentary Bill and policy development.

This is a real opportunity to make a difference to children’s lives, but we also like to reward our people by offering a great working environment, being part of a friendly and supportive team, and offering stimulating and challenging work, with plenty of development opportunities. We offer a variety of rewards and benefits including: generous annual leave, employee benefits and assistance programme, pension and life assurance schemes.

Our safer recruitment practices ensure that there is a consistent and thorough process of obtaining, collating, analysing and evaluating information from and about candidates to ensure that all persons appointed are suitable to work with our children and adults.
