Job Details

Do you have extensive experience in developing media and communications strategies? Do you want to make a real difference by making the world a safer place for future generations?

As CND Press & Communications Officer, you’ll be responsible for gaining coverage of our campaigning work across print, broadcast and digital media to drive forward our media strategy.

One day you may be pitching an exclusive to a newspaper, and another live-tweeting our work at the United Nations. You’ll have a solid understanding of the UK’s political and media landscape, and you’ll know how to capitalise on opportunities for intervention.

You’ll be experienced in measuring media reach and using this insight to influence and implement a successful media strategy. You’ll be as comfortable talking to a group of activists as a defence correspondent and you’ll make sure the rest of the organisation is kept up-to-date with any developments.

The job will involve remote working, with regular attendance at the office for those living outside of London (for which travel expenses would be paid). We work a 35-hour week and the position is permanent following the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.

The salary is £28,492 per annum, or £34,488 inclusive of a London weighting for residents of the capital. The successful candidate will be entitled to 28 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) and a contributory pension scheme.

The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is committed to welcoming people from the widest possible diversity of background, culture and experience.

Closing Date: 3 February 2022
