TPP are looking to appoint a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to work for the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership

As the Policy and Public Affairs Officer, your role will be to undertake research and analysis of the construction sector, and to lead the development of the Institute’s policy position in our priority areas in the UK’s construction sector.

Your duties and responsibilities will include

• To ensure that the Institute is well positioned within national, devolved and regional Governments, and the wider policy sector, and to help effect regulation and policy change

• Work in collaboration with internal teams to agree and design policy positions for the organisation on various construction issues

• Attend public speaking engagements to promote the Institute’s policy and research work

• Work with departmental and regional colleagues to design and implement engagement strategies to raise the organisational profile and influence with the Welsh Government, AMs, and key stakeholders in Wales

• Monitoring policy developments and identifying opportunities for influencing

• Conducting research and drafting responses to Parliament and Government consultations

Your experience will include

• You will have previous experience in a policy or public affairs role that has consistently challenged thought-leadership, strategic analysis, writing, research, presentation and communication skills

• strong interpersonal skills, a creative mindset, initiative, and the ability to work independently and autonomously

• Ideally you will have knowledge Government and Parliamentary processes, along with ability to assess and make recommendations for policy development

• Ability to manage groups and facilitate discussion, as well as networking skills

• Knowledge and experience in maintaining a professional social media presence

• Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable
