Job Ref No LC795 This new post will project manage an exciting new initiative to find a sustainable end to rough sleeping for around 1,000 of London’s most complex and long-term homeless people. This new initiative sits at the heart of a Life Off the Streets programme to end rough sleeping in the capital involving London local authorities, the Greater London Authority, central government, health partners, and the voluntary and community sector. We are looking for a highly motivated person with experience, innovative ideas and the ability to project manage an initiative with multiple partners within a challenging policy environment. The post will sit within the Policy and Public Affairs Directorate at London Councils, which represents the 32 boroughs and the City of London. This is a new role reporting to the Rough Sleeping Programme Director at London Councils, fixed term for 12 months initially. London is currently in a position where an end to rough sleeping is in sight. Building on the success of the Everyone In campaign, initiatives such as this one will play an integral part in ensuring that those people sleeping rough whose needs might mean housing and support solutions are more challenging will not be left behind. The scale and nature of the challenge demands innovative solutions at borough, sub-regional and pan-London level that draw on all the strengths of the partners involved. You will have a good understanding of practice and policy in relation to rough sleeping, have experience of creative problem solving at both an individual and partnership level, and be able to manage a varied workload in a pressurised environment.
