Job Title: Research Intern

Working For: BritainThinks

Location: London

Salary: £22,984 pa

Length of Contract: 6 months

Job Details

We are a fast-growing research agency that puts public and stakeholder opinion at the heart of our clients' thinking. Our research methodologies span all qualitative and quantitative techniques, and we have a diverse client base across the private, public and third sectors. We strongly encourage all potential applicants to take a look at our website for more information about who we are and what we do, including some of our previous reports: www.britainthinks.com

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and hard-working intern to join our team. The chosen candidate will be primarily responsible for providing logistical and analytical support on research projects, as well as providing wider administrative support to the team.

Interns at BritainThinks gain exposure to all elements of our work, including seeing (virtual) focus groups in action, and contributing to the analysis and reporting process. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to embark on a career in social and market research or in communications.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their background, race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, as these groups are underrepresented both in our workplace and in the sector.

You must:
• Have strong communication skills, on paper, in person and on the phone.
• Have strong organisational skills and be able to multi-task.
• Have an excellent academic record.
• Be able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to a high degree of proficiency.
• Have permission to work in the UK at the time of starting employment.

Ideally you would also have some previous theoretical or practical exposure to qualitative or quantitative research methodologies (e.g. through academic studies or work experience), and experience of working in an office-based environment.

Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm (with occasional evening working)

Location: Our offices are in Somerset House in central London. When the offices are open (we are currently working remotely) we anticipate all staff will be working in the office at least 2 days a week, but continue to monitor this closely in line with national restrictions.

Closing Date: 31 January 2022

Interview/Start Dates

Application deadline: 9am

Start date: Wednesday 23rd February (with some flexibility)

Interviews will be conducted remotely between Tuesday 8th and Friday 11th February. Please be aware that if you are shortlisted there will be a short, written task to be completed.
