Job Summary

• Develop and implement a media engagement plan for the Maximus UK business

• Oversee proactive engagement with national, regional and online media

• Develop and implement thought leadership activity

• Raise the profile of the Maximus UK brand/sub-brands and craft media angles aligned to business development and corporate priorities (e.g. justice, employment, social value)

• Support the Director/Head of Comms with reactive/crisis communications as required

• Work extensively with senior internal stakeholders, including preparation for media interviews and support with contract launches and events

• Support with horizon scanning and policy work

• Create website content

Home based with travel as required.

Experience Required

Qualifications & Experience

• Significant experience either at a communications/PR agency or in journalism/media

• Experience engaging with national media, or experience working in national/regional/online media

• Evidence of successfully pitching stories and developing media angles

• Strong copywriting skills

• Creative flair

• Understanding of the important role of media and stakeholder engagement for an organisation like Maximus

• Work collaboratively, including with senior internal stakeholders and commissioners
