Demos is a cross-party think tank based in the heart of Westminster. For nearly thirty years we have been a pioneer of ideas, bringing together citizens, experts and political leaders to generate positive change. Working on a cross-party basis, we conduct research, design and advocate for policy solutions, and host inspiring and insightful events.

Demos is looking to recruit a talented communications professional to act as our voice and deliver key messaging to external groups such as our funders, supporters, the public, politicians and the media.

Within this remit, our Communications Manager will ensure that Demos has a detailed understanding and map of the political and social landscape, in order to identify key opportunities to increase Demos’ influence amongst target audiences including MPs, journalists, civil society organisations and other key stakeholder groups.

Reporting directly to Demos’ Director of Strategy, Impact and Operations, the post holder will write, edit, coordinate and publish content across various channels (including Demos’ website, social media, printed materials). Working with our Digital Content and Production Officer, they will also plan and implement communications campaigns to raise awareness of the organisation’s activities and publications. In doing so they will find themselves at the centre of public conversations on issues including but not limited to housing, artificial intelligence, domestic poverty and the future of social media.

The role will involve raising the organisation’s profile across different media platforms and in the public and political eye. The post holder will be expected to help develop Demos’ brand and discover insights into how different audiences respond to Demos’ content and visual identity.
