Job Details
Zarah Sultana is recruiting a part time Caseworker (20h p/w). The successful candidate will demonstrate the following values and skills while assisting the residents of Coventry South:

The successful candidate must be available to work part time (not be in full time work or education) and will fulfil the following key responsibilities:
- Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required.
- Draft responses to constituents.
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP.
- Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
- Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act.
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Other desired characteristics include:
- Previous experience and knowledge of immigration systems and legislation – through an MP’s office, immigration law firm, grassroots or third sector organisation.
- Clear and concise writing style and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to carry out tasks quickly and to a high standard.
- Being a self-starter with demonstrable record of taking initiative.
- Ability to manage a large and varied caseload under pressure.
- Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party and Zarah Sultana MP.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates
