Job Details
A fantastic opportunity to join UK in a Changing Europe’s Communications Team for the start of this award-winning think tank’s new three-year grant, running from May 1st 2022 to April 30th 2025.
The incoming Senior Communications Officer will play a key role in shaping and implementing UKICE’s communications strategy over the next three years, bringing fresh, exciting approaches to the way the unit engages with its key audiences and stakeholders. This role will involve working closely with both UKICE’s leadership and research teams, as well as directly with the unit’s Director.
The SCO’s central responsibility will, therefore, be to take the lead in the whole range of UKICE comms outputs, from blogs to podcasts to video content to long-form academic writing. Accordingly, the successful candidate will have a track record as a skilled and effective communications professional in a political, academic or public policy environment. They will have highly developed skills in writing for online audiences and in setting key comms strategies, and they will have a demonstrable commitment to providing an accurate, engaging and impartial communications offering.
The incoming SCO may also have line-management responsibilities for junior members of the UKICE Comms Team – though this will be dependent on the chosen candidate’s past people-management experience.

The selection process will include a panel interview, potentially held remotely on Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and a short, written test, both in mid-to-late April.
The chosen candidate's contract will begin on the 1st May 2022, subject to notice period.
