Analysis that'll improve our business - and your career.

We’re MI5, and we protect the UK from a range of different threats like terrorism, espionage and cyber-attacks. We do this by collecting intelligence from within the UK and working collaboratively with other agencies. And it’s work you can do. As a Business Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of our organisations, helping us to run effectively and efficiently. It’s incredibly rewarding and unique work.

Technology is at the heart of everything we do – just like this role. As part of a multi-disciplinary product team, you’ll help us to create effective solutions and make the most of tech. With a collaborative ethos, you’ll work alongside engineers, product management and agile delivery specialists and use a range of techniques. You’ll also be expected to analyse the impact of change on users, process, culture and IT.

Plus, you’ll also share your learnings and knowledge with the wider community, and use your experiences to help manage and mentor other business analysts. Keen to develop your own skills, you’ll stay up to date with the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernise products.

To join, you’ll be an experienced business analyst and have knowledge of user-centred design. You’ll know how to use different questioning tools and techniques and you’ll be confident at identifying risks and making recommendations. This background means that you’ve embedded change in another organisation and turned challenges into business outcomes. Because of this, you’ll be great at talking to – and influencing – a range of different people. With a tactful approach, you’ll handle difficult conversations and make everyone feel heard.

In return, you can expect incredible learning and development opportunities. You might grow as a leader, or develop into a specialism. Either way, you’ll enjoy an inclusive workplace that’s welcoming, supportive and encouraging. And best of all, you’ll help to protect the UK.
