Job Details

Sir Bill Wiggin MP is looking to recruit a Caseworker to provide high quality administrative support as part of his constituency team. Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Responding effectively to correspondence and enquiries from constituents via email, telephone, letter and face-to-face.
• Ensuring that casework is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately.
• Liaising with Government agencies, local government departments, the voluntary sector and others to resolve constituency matters.
• Drafting correspondence relating to the MP’s Parliamentary and constituency activities.
• Attendance at constituency surgeries, visits or meetings when required.
• Undertaking research in support of the MP’s parliamentary duties as required.
• Ensuring that records are kept and adhere to the Data Protection Act principles.

Requirements:

• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Proven organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience dealing with members of the public.
• Ability to work under own initiative without supervision.
• Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise.

Benefits:

• Competitive salary within IPSA pay scales.
• Generous employer contribution pension scheme.
• 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Closing Date: 20 May 2022
