Job Details

This is a unique chance to be right at the heart of our most ambitious initiatives and projects. We are constantly looking for the best way to utilise our resources and build partnerships, so you will play a crucial role in connecting Councillors with those who most need their support in the community. Acting as the Councillors’ trusted aide, you will see to it that they are receiving a constant flow of information to enable them to make the best decisions, and you will drive exceptional standards of governance.

Across the team, we are always working on the Council’s response to some of the biggest challenges that WCC faces, and you will be at the heart of this work in this fast-paced role by providing Cabinet Members with executive support, through managing their inboxes, handling and compiling correspondence and dealing with their diaries. Crucially, you will take a lead role in supporting a broad portfolio of casework, so you will have the scope to work with every level of the organisation, from junior officers through to our most senior stakeholders including the Executive Team. Maintaining oversight of complaints and casework, you will work in partnership with relevant service areas to resolve issues and conduct investigations into the specifics of each challenge, and you will be responsible for ward budget projects. In addition, you will also handle the administration of formal committee meetings, tackling everything from publishing and distributing papers through to taking minutes.
