Job Details

Campaigns Manager | Lead the people’s fight.

Be the face of an organisation motivated by the need to improve public policy in New Zealand. You’ll execute campaigns and provide a voice for taxpayers in the media and in Wellington’s corridors of power. Hone your effectiveness as a communicator and team leader.

Day-to-day you’ll monitor and respond to unexpected daily events while simultaneously progressing longer-term projects. You will motivate and upskill a team of researchers and interns, shepherding ideas into compelling research and ultimately to headlines. Enjoy a fun, fast-paced workplace that values creativity and humour.

You’ll present to members of Parliament and speak persuasively on radio and television, and co-ordinate others to do so. Oversee multiple social media channels and create email and blog posts to garner support for the campaign.

Above all, you’ll be fighting for a cause of virtue: protecting hard-working taxpayers from the grasping hands of the state and championing the small-government values that have seen New Zealand ranked as one of the world’s most free economies.

The Taxpayers’ Union is New Zealand’s largest political advocacy group on the centre-right, using the power of our 175,000+ subscribed members and supporters to fight for Lower Taxes, Less Waste, More Transparency.

We combine hard-hitting original research with people power to expose examples of wasteful government spending, stop new taxes, fight for transparent government, and hold politicians to account at both the national and local level.

The Taxpayers’ Union is based in Wellington, with a second office in Auckland. Our team is small (9-10 staff) and skews young. We take pride in punching above our weight, and being hungry, nimble, and responsive to the 15,000+ donors who make our work possible.

So, if you’d be proud to lead one of the most subscribed and effective grassroots organisations in New Zealand, let’s talk!

Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience. More information about the skills we're looking for is available here: https://www.seek.co.nz/job/56819987

Closing Date: 27 May 2022
