This is a key role to help deliver public affairs, stakeholder engagement and media activities at East Midlands Airport (EMA), part of MAG. Your exposure across a range of communications offers an excellent grounding in in-house corporate affairs at a high-profile and fast-paced business.

As an international airport serving the counties of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire Northamptonshire, Staffordshire and parts of the West Midlands, EMA welcomes over 4.8m passengers each year. As home to the UK’s largest express air cargo operation handling almost 460,000 tonnes of goods a year, it is a vital strategic infrastructure asset supporting UK exports and cutting-edge advanced logistics.

The airport is also part of the East Midlands Freeport (EMF) bid, a once in a generation investment opportunity for the East Midlands and a major policy priority for the UK Government.

You will also support the airport’s media function by dealing with press enquiries and helping to tell EMA’s story through the media. This will involve being part of the on-call media rota and responding to crises if they arise.

The role will be based at East Midlands Airport, with the opportunity for some travel throughout the catchment. There may also be periodic travel to other airports in the Group and Westminster.
