Job Details

An exciting vacancy has arisen, within APM, for a Public Affairs Advisor. The role holder will support the Head of Public Affairs and Research Manager in ensuring the project profession builds its voice and influence across governments, parliaments and other stakeholders.

They will help to ensure that our policy and research positions are communicated with all relevant stakeholders.

The successful candidate will help deliver the APM’s strategy, to maximise the voice of the profession and increase awareness of the vital role project professionals play in supporting public policy, by bringing our policy and research programme into the heart of government.

They will build and maintain relationships with strategic partners including politicians, political advisors and parliamentarians, policy makers, civil servants and other external agencies to amplify our message and increase visibility

Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal is key to the success of this role.

Qualifications - desirable

  • Educated to degree level or experience from working in the political environment.

Experience

  • Good track record of stakeholder management and building partnerships across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in public policy, public affairs, public relations, or political work.

Skills

  • Effective influencing and networking skills with the ability to maintain and extend stakeholder and customer relationships and to analyse and provide advice on complex issues.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both in terms of written and oral work, with experience of communicating effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
