The Candidates Team is part of the Campaigning Department. The Candidates Department fulfils the Executive function of the Party’s Committee on Candidates. The Candidates Team are constitutionally mandated to maintain an approved list of candidates, which is constitutionally referred to as the ‘United Kingdom Parliamentary List’.

As part of the digitalisation of the Candidates recruitment and onboarding processes we are looking for an Assessment Centre Assistant to support the Candidates Team with assessing and selecting the most talented and diverse candidates in the United Kingdom into PPC, PCC and Combined Authority Mayoral roles.

This new role is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of our brand-new assessment process focused on end-to-end attraction and delivery. We believe in providing a transparent and outstanding service to our applicants and are looking for someone who shares our passion for people.

You will report into the Head of Candidates to deliver this multifaceted workflow.

Your responsibilities

•Management of the Candidates Application Tracking System

•Liaising with applicants to ensure they have an outstanding customer journey

•Reporting and management of applicant data shared with internal stakeholders, ensuring this is accurately maintained

•Screening candidate applications and digital submissions

•Preparing and monitoring correspondence

•Organisation and support of wide scale assessment centres

•Managing the budget and financial requirements for all assessment centres

•Training, supporting, and coordinating assessors

•Ensuring effective coordination, collaboration, and communication with and between the team

•Have a responsibility to follow CCHQ Data Protection and Information Governance policies and procedures

Your professional experience

•Excellent organisational and planning skills

•A proven track record as an effective communicator, able to manage multiple key stakeholders

•Strong attention to detail •Able to grasp technical concepts and functionality quickly

•Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team to tight deadlines

•Political judgement and emotional intelligence •Ability to remain confidential and discrete at all times
