To get there, they need to ensure that the political, regulatory and wider public policy climate is aligned with our mission.
The Opportunity:
CAF is looking for an experienced public affairs expert to lead our engagement in Westminster with a mission to unlock funding for the charities that we exist to support.
Main responsibilities:
Delivering the public affairs element of the team’s influencing strategy, ensuring these activities are aligned with CAF’s objectives, and that success is regularly evaluated.
Providing strategic support across CAF to ensure our engagement with the Government and politicians is co-ordinated and well managed.
Working with the Senior Public Affairs and Policy Manager to develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan for engaging Government, parliamentarians and other decision makers, including identifying and mapping key stakeholders.
Maintaining our relationships with Government, parliamentarians, and other key stakeholders.
Building relationships with other external stakeholders and partners, including businesses and charities, and represent the organisation effectively at external meetings and events.
Monitoring parliamentary developments, changes in policy, legislation and the wider external environment relevant to the charity sector, and to advise on the best way to respond to these.
Key Skills Required:
An excellent understanding of UK political systems and proven experience of stakeholder engagement
Ability to write strong, articulate briefings to tight deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively verbally
A solid understanding of policy development processes
