Job Details

Learning and Work Institute is an independent research, development and policy organisation dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, full employment and inclusion.

We're focused on the big questions. How do we help more people find work and build careers in a changing jobs market? How do we help people to be active and engaged citizens? How can more adults develop their skills over their lifetime?

We’re looking to recruit a Researcher to join our growing team, delivering a range of high quality, high impact projects on learning, skills and employment. You will contribute to the design, delivery and dissemination of research and evaluation projects; work effectively with team members and partners; and help to ensure our work makes an impact on policy and practice.

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge and experience of a range of social research methods and an interest in the policy context for learning, skills and employment.

We are a friendly and supportive team, passionate and enthusiastic about our work. We support each other to develop and flourish.

L&W prides itself on being a supportive and flexible employer. We recognise the importance of work-life balance for our staff and will consider part-time and flexible working arrangements, including homeworking. We put our values into practice with various family friendly policies, which exceed the statutory minimum including carer’s leave for up to 5 paid days per year.

L&W is passionate about equality and diversity, it drives our organisational values and mission, and we are particularly keen to receive applications from all under-represented groups in society.

L&W offers generous benefits including a Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) with 18% employer contributions, generous holiday entitlement of 25 days (rising to 27 after 5 years’ service), plus 8 bank holidays and 6 grace days (including Christmas shutdown) per year. We operate an annual pay review, including opportunities for pay progression and bonuses.

The successful candidate will be expected to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Should you require any adjustments to participate in this recruitment process, please make this clear when you apply.

Closing Date: 6 June 2022
